At GXO, we are seeking a dynamic HR Manager for a maternity cover position to join our experienced team in Barnsley , supporting our customer, ASOS. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of a comprehensive and integrated HR service for the Barnsley site, focusing on executing a robust People Plan aligned with site and GXO HR objectives. A unionised large site environment with approx. 4,000 colleagues, the role is essential in fostering positive relationships with the unions, managing a team of ER specialists, enhancing colleague engagement and wellbeing, and overseeing the payroll team. This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract position, working Monday to Friday , 08:30 to 17:00, with flexibility on start and finish times. Pay, benefits and more: We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £65,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). - Support and ensue an active role within the site SLT
- Ensure standards and capability at all levels of the business are maintained via leadership development; management training; succession and talent planning etc
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processes are followed
- Align people-related policies and processes to ensure legal compliance
- Successful delivery of site people plan
- Encourage the HR team to constantly review and improve HR processes
- Undertake an active role within the HRM business unit peer group
- Demonstrable experience in a similar HR management role, preferably in an operational environment, with exposure of dealing with trade unions
- A proven track record in change management and the ability to drive HR transformation
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching and motivational skills
- An organised, data-focused and conscientious approach to your work
