Project Engineer

Job Title : Project Engineer – Subsea Projects (Oil & Gas Domain) Location : Pune , Hyderabad Company : Expert Global an ALTEN company. Job Description : We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with experience in the Oil & Gas industry to join our team. This role focuses on supporting subsea projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to manage engineering projects effectively within tight schedules and budgets. Key Responsibilities :

• Support engineering efforts for subsea projects with a focus on safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
• Review and evaluate engineering designs, documents, layouts, calculations, and FEA/structural analysis results.
• Conduct design analyses, including hoop stress, flexibility, buckling, burst, and fatigue studies.
• Apply knowledge of ASME, API, NORSOK, and DNV codes and standards to subsea equipment design and manufacturing.
• Work with manufacturing processes, including forging, extrusion, cladding, HIP, and induction bending.
• Apply welding and NDE codes and practices (e.g., ASME IX, API 1104, UT, PAUT, PT, RT, MPI).
• Manage projects within established schedules and budgets while maintaining high levels of accuracy and dependability.
• Collaborate effectively in technical teams and work independently as needed.
• Mentor and coach team members while ensuring effective knowledge transfer.

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
• Experience :
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in the Oil & Gas domain (2 years for Master’s/Ph.D. holders).
• Proven experience with subsea engineering projects.
• Familiarity with physical modeling techniques, including solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer.
• Technical Expertise :
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME, API, NORSOK, DNV).
• Exposure to advanced manufacturing and welding processes.
• Experience interpreting structural analysis and conducting design evaluations.
• Skills :
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent project planning and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.

• Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to shop floors, labs, or vendor facilities.
• Potential exposure to high noise levels and heavy equipment during site visits.
• Domestic and international travel may be required on short notice.
