Senior Software Engineer (Engineering Services), Dublin

The Role – Senior Software Engineer We are looking for a highly motivated Software Developer to join our Engineering Services Team. The successful candidate will become part of the team who certifies Datalex's Digital Commerce Platform (DCP). They will work directly with modern software and technologies to support and improve the tools & pipelines which serve DCP, Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure as well as troubleshooting any build or deployment issues. The ideal candidate will have sufficient experience in Java, Jenkins Pipelines, Groovy, Gradle and AWS. Any experience in the travel or retail industry would be an advantage. Responsibilities

1. Estimate, design, implement and deliver Tools and Enhancements to drive developer efficiency.
2. Ensure the highest levels of quality in development with a focus on Automation and Continuous Improvement.
3. Maintain and improve our internal Platform libraries.
4. Contribute towards initiatives to improve the software development process.
5. Troubleshoot and support teams with build and deployment issues.
6. Support Release and Certification team.

Essential Skills & Experience

1. Must have 8 years’ experience working as a Platform Software Engineer on large software applications.
2. Proficient in many of the following technologies – Java, REST, JBoss, Tomcat & Linux.
3. Experience with Distributed Technologies: Spring, J2EE, Memcached.
4. Experience working with one or more of the following database systems – Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB.
5. Demonstrated expertise in unit testing and tools – JUnit, Mockito, JMock, JMeter.
6. Knowledge of design patterns and software architectures.
7. Experience with Development Tools: GIT, Gradle, Groovy, Maven, Ant, Jenkins, Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc).
8. Experience with Nexus/Artifactory or other Artifact repositories.
9. Experience with Agile development processes.
10. Excellent communication and organization skills.

Desirable skills

1. AWS.
2. Docker and related cloud technologies ECR, EKS, ECS.
3. Fargate.
4. DevOps Experience.
5. API scripting experience.
6. Experience with configuration deployment tools Saltstack/Terraform.
7. Experience with Continuous code inspection tools, eg configuring SonarQube, running static analysis tools such as PMD, Checkstyle, Findbugs, OWASP / SANS Security reports into CI pipelines.
