Our vision is to make Qatar Insurance Group become the first Digital Ecosystem in the region by combining insurance and non-insurance services in one platform. Through our digital platforms, such as qic.online and the QIC app, we empower customers to manage their needs anytime and anywhere.We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and oversee our technology roadmap for web and backend development streams.ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and budget.Collaborate with product managers to prioritize tasks and align engineering efforts with business goals.Provide technical guidance and support to the team, solving complex problems and making informed decisions.Implement tools and practices that streamline development workflows and reduce bottlenecks.Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams to facilitate collaboration.Requirements7+ years of experience in software engineering or a related technical field.Proven track record in a senior technical leadership role, such as Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Chief Technology Officer.Experience in managing large, distributed engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects.Strong knowledge of backend and frontend technologies, system architecture, cloud technologies, and scalable systems.Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.What we offerOur employees have been featured in Forbes 30 under 30, teach at online universities, serve on program committees of major IT conferences, and have previously worked at Yandex, Tinkoff, Avito, Ozon, and other leading tech companies.ConditionsLong-term service agreement contract with QIC with a 3-month probation period.Group and Individual English language classes.We are diverse; our digital nomads work remotely from 20+ different countries.Payment in US dollars monthly to your bank account using SWIFT.Full-time remote, work schedule: 5 days per week, Sunday to Thursday, GMT +3 timezone.Vacation policy: Qatar Holiday Calendar, 20 days of vacation, and 10 sick-day-offs.Performance reviews are conducted twice a year, with the possibility of a raise in March and September.Potential opportunity to apply for a Qatar ID and relocation to Doha, Qatar.Reimbursement for conferences, training, and purchase of necessary tools.Consultation on tax policies with a manager.QIC Running club on Strava with personal coach.
