Operations and Engineering Manager

About the company: Stellar Recruitment has partnered with a leader in manufacturing technology within the heavy transport industry. Currently, we are looking to fill the role of Operations and Engineering Manager. Our client’s team manufactures a range of tyre pressure management systems for heavy transport fleets. Its products (systems) and service philosophies are regarded as leading edge. End users install these systems on truck fleets predominantly servicing the primary sector (forestry, agriculture, petroleum distribution). However, the company prides itself on innovation and solutions, and this has allowed it to develop customised solutions in niche and special purpose situations across the world. This has helped the company extend its reach beyond traditional users. The company has a loyal domestic following and a robust distributor force in key international markets. It is presently focused on the next growth phase, building on new overseas distributorships with high potential. About you:

• Enough charisma to enable good relations across the range (blue collar workers as well as business owners)
• Sales experience, someone who knows what it is like to manage customer experience, present to business owners, follow up and close deals.
• Comfortable dealing with a range of suppliers and customers, and able to travel domestically around New Zealand
• Familiarity with finance and inventory management
• System and process-oriented person (lean principles)
• Driven to succeed with the vision to see that hard work and commitment creates opportunity
• Comfortable running a team of 7
• Managing a P&L
• Curious and eager to learn and progress your career within the company

• Provide engineering support/mentoring to the team across a range of projects
• Oversee project engineering activities, ensuring high-quality delivery, strong programs, and cost control across all projects
• Collaborate closely with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions to projects
• Leverage your expertise in engineering to enhance project outcomes and operational effectiveness
• Work as part of a proven leadership team while enjoying the autonomy to shape the role and make an impact
