As part of our Executive team as Chief Digital Officer, you will have responsibility for the development and successful delivery of this strategy. There are three strategic pillars the business is focused on achieving:

  1. Audiences - Deliver exceptional, digital-led content and experience for our viewers
  2. Revenue - Be the preferred digital platform for NZ advertisers
  3. Future Business - Realign our operating and cost models with a digital first focus.
These strategic pillars are underpinned by our People (Empower our people with digital-first culture and skills) and Technology (Enable the business with digital and data capability) foundations. The opportunity - Te tūranga The Chief Digital Officer (CDO) reporting to the CEO will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of TVNZ, ensuring we remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. This executive leadership position will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive digital strategy, leveraging emerging technologies, and enhancing customer and advertising engagement across all digital platforms. This Executive role is responsible for developing and leading the execution of the strategy to support the acceleration of digital audiences and revenue and includes responsibility for:
  1. Ownership and delivery of the Technology Investment programme
  2. Responsibility for partnering with our Master Systems Integrator to ensure successful delivery of the Technology Investment Programme
  3. Leading the development of products and services that drive audiences and revenue
  4. Leading the enterprise planning for TVNZ platforms
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
  1. Proven transformational leadership experience to accelerate TVNZ's transition from a linear broadcaster to a digital first, multi-platform video content service provider.
  2. The ability to operate and lead transformative progress at pace and the ability to openly engage with and collaborate with all parts of TVNZ's business to deliver our Digital + Strategy.
  3. Sophisticated stakeholder influencing skills.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of the latest thinking in programme and strategic delivery.
  5. Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources.
  6. Proven leadership skills at an Executive team and demonstrated ability leading large complex teams.
  7. Deep and wide understanding of all facets of Data, Digital strategies/practices, and digital content platforms.
  8. Proven planning and implementation ability of large and complex programmes of operational or technical development.
