We are seeking a maintenance professional with an experienced Mechanical background to become an integral part of our team that maintains, operates, manages, and continuously improves our hydro generation assets. This role is looking for a person who can apply their mechanical experience to maintain our hydro generation and ancillary plant. You will need to problem solve diverse problems in a changing and safety conscious environment. There will be opportunities to grow and develop in a range of diverse skills such as planning and scheduling while putting their own experience into action within the open minded, agile site team. This role predominantly looks after our Hydro Maraetai / Arapuni Generation stations where you will be the subject matter expert, finding long term solutions to problems, providing quality assurance, contractor supervision while ensuring maximised plant performance, enabling Mercury to be the best electrical generator. Mercury's structure enables people in the same role at different locations to share and connect with professionals of the same interests to learn from. You'll join a close-knit team who value supporting each other and putting safety first. Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot and problem solve plant issues, executing reactive maintenance tasks
- Supervision of Mercury mechanical maintenance staff and contractors
- Use Risk Assessments to plan long term maintenance
- Identify, share and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Champion a world class attitude to health and safety
- Plant operations / Process control or maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy process industry
- Maintenance and/or operation of hydro power stations (advantageous)
- Knowledge in the energy industry particularly related to asset management and operations (advantageous)
- Skills in the use of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems), contractor management and technical troubleshooting
- Enthusiasm and passion for a job well done
- Experience with steam turbines and/or major hazard facilities (MHF) would be an advantage.
