Unix Engineer

Key Responsibilities System Administration : Install, configure, and maintain Unix-based servers, including but not limited to Linux, Solaris, or AIX environments. Performance Monitoring : Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and implement solutions to improve performance and reliability. Security Management : Apply patches, monitor vulnerabilities, and ensure Unix systems meet security and compliance standards. Automation : Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., Shell, Python) to automate repetitive tasks and enhance system efficiency. Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across Unix systems. Backup & Recovery : Design, implement, and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies. Collaboration : Work closely with DevOps, network teams, and application developers to support infrastructure requirements. Documentation : Maintain up-to-date system documentation, procedures, and configurations. Required Qualifications Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience with [specific Unix OS like Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Solaris, etc.]. Skills : Proficiency in Unix/Linux command-line tools and shell scripting. Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure).
