About the position The Provincial Coordinator, Health-Care Community of Practice is responsible for the development, maintenance and planning of a provincial community of practice (CoP) to help trainees apply and build on their learning through the Society’s standardized dementia care training program for frontline care providers. This includes the development of an online learning centre to facilitate peer support and ongoing opportunities for professional development and training; supplementary learning resources (such as course content and handouts) and microlearning opportunities. The Provincial Coordinator, Community of Practice is also responsible for coordinating phone and email support to program trainees and collaborating with the Health-Care Provider Education Master Trainers to align program deliverables with training goals. This role reports to the Manager, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery. Title: Provincial Coordinator, Health-Care Community of Practice Salary range: $73,000 to $77,000 Contract: Three-year grant-funded term position with potential for extension Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week Location: Vancouver - Hybrid Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the health-care provider community of practice to ensure continuous learning and peer support programs for workers in long-term care.
- Develop innovative microlearning opportunities to enhance trainee engagement and continued learning, such as short videos, online posts, newsletter articles or emailed content.
- Develop ongoing opportunities for trainee peer support and connection, such as online peer connection meetings, moderated discussion boards and in-person networking events.
- Develop systems for measuring engagement and utilization of the community of practice deliverables and collaborate with other teams to optimize deliverables and reach.
- Collaborate with the health-care provider education Master Trainers to ensure alignment between the provincial community of practice deliverables and goals of the standardized health-care provider education program.
- Support and participate in provincial and national U-First! ® community of practice activities, and the U-First!® mentoring program.
- Provide email and phone support to program trainees.
- Develop and document procedures for responding to trainee email and phone support requests.
- Develop and maintain relationships with health care professionals and related partners to understand the needs of learners.
- Build awareness of the Society’s health-care provider education program through outreach and awareness activities, including developing content for the Society’s publications, website and other communication channels.
- Other duties as required to meet the Society’s organizational goals.
- 3 to 5 years of experience designing and developing online learning and training programs, preferably in a non-profit or health-oriented environment.
- Experience working with people living with dementia or older adults in a non-profit environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and the seniors’ services sector is an asset.
- Proven experience developing and delivering online adult education and training programs, including best practices in knowledge translation, adult learning, and engagement.
- Knowledge of dementia, the caregiving sector, and the impact on individuals, communities, and care providers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of adult education, training, and program development best practices is considered an asset.
- Experience in group facilitation (online or in-person) is considered an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally and work evenings or weekends as needed.
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating virtual presentations or programs using Zoom considered an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and stakeholder engagement using Raiser’s Edge software.
