Job Description: As a Senior Merchandising Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the merchandising strategy for the company. Your role will involve analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and sales data to make informed decisions on product assortment, pricing, and promotions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, and sales to ensure alignment of merchandising efforts with overall business goals. The Senior Merchandising Officer will lead a team of merchandisers, providing guidance and mentorship to drive results. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandising, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising strategies. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to meet business objectives and drive sales growth.
  • Manage product assortment planning and selection based on market trends, customer needs, and historical data.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the market.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and pricing to make data-driven decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment on merchandising strategies.
  • Create and maintain merchandising calendars, product launch plans, and promotional schedules.
  • Develop pricing strategies to optimize margins while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Lead and mentor a team of merchandising professionals to ensure effective execution of strategies and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and technological advancements to drive innovation in merchandising efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising, retail, or marketing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and merchandising software systems.
