Assistant Accountant

Job Specification Title: Assistant Accountant My client, a global distributor of commercial vehicles, within Ireland and the UK, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team. This role will report to the finance manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join a globally recognised company. 1. Assist with month-end accounts, including stock, bank, intercompany, and other reconciliations.
2. Ensure account accuracy by collaborating with finance, commercial, and admin teams.
3. Monitor budget and target compliance.
4. Process payroll and expenses with timely reporting.
5. Prepare weekly/monthly reports and support the finance team.
6. Coordinate month-end closing and provide reporting/analysis.
7. Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., stock, payroll, VAT).
8. Prepare audit files and assist with financial tasks/projects.
9. Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency.

1. Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or accounting technician.
2. 3+ years’ accounting experience. (Motor industry experience preferred)
3. Strong understanding of accounting principles (debits/credits).
4. Proficient in Excel and accounting software; strong analytical skills.
5. Experienced in monthly accounts, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Detail-oriented, proactive, and accurate.
7. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
8. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
9. Team player with a collaborative mindset.
