We are now seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Mechanical OR Structural) to support the Managing Director's vision for the company's next chapter. Brisbane River views from your desk in our open plan office in Murarrie Free on-site parking Permanent full-time office-based role Interesting and unique work Tier-one clients Steady and consistent work pipeline The Role As the Senior Design Engineer, with consultancy experience your primary objective will be to streamline client solution delivery by optimizing internal functions and removing bottlenecks. Your responsibilities include: Creating concepts, designs, and conducting analyses as needed (Solidworks, Inventor, or Strand 7) Managing a small team of design engineers and drafts people Allocating, monitoring, and reviewing junior engineers work Demonstrated experience with development and management of complex models Completing certifications, analysis, and sign-offs Communicating with all internal stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant client service Experience with steel/aluminum equipment or fabricated structures Lifting equipment, access systems and temporary works for large projects This is an office-based role, Monday to Friday, 7 am – 4 pm , with occasional overtime required to meet client/project deadlines. Overtime compensation will be provided. Ad-hoc WFH arrangements are possible, depending on individual circumstances. You To succeed in this role, you should have: A tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Structural, or Civil ). A minimum of 5 years' consultancy experience in an Australian/New Zealand. Preference given to candidates with Temporary Works experience Proficiency in relevant ANZ standards . RPEQ and/or CPEng (or significant progress towards) Strong design and analysis skills, in Solidworks, Inventor, or Strand 7 Demonstrated job stability and tenure in previous positions Exceptional attention to detail Commitment to producing high-quality work Versatility in your approach and abilities to deliver engineering solutions. Ability to produce work quickly and work to time constraints Able to obtain defence clearance Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a driven and highly skilled, practical engineer, and work on a diverse range of projects to further develop your professional engineering capabilities.
