- Cook food items using various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, sautéing, or baking.
- Cook and season food according to specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure that food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and doneness level.
- Monitor cooking times and adjust temperatures as needed to maintain quality and consistency.
- Organize and maintain a clean and efficient workstation.
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and notify the kitchen head or head chef of any shortages.
- Keep track of food supplies and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
- Properly label and store prepared food items to minimize waste and facilitate easy retrieval.
- Inspect ingredients for freshness, quality, and adherence to standards.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Conduct visual and taste tests to ensure that food meets quality standards before serving.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate timing and execution of orders.
- Assist colleagues during busy periods and work together to ensure smooth operations.
