We are looking for an experienced Data Centre Manager to oversee our data centre operations team. Based on-site at ONNEC client Data Centre locations, the role is responsible for the delivery of all works by our operations team. The Data Centre team supports the client environment 24/7/365 across the client's DC locations. The successful candidate will ensure the client data centres operate at peak performance through the provision of ONNEC services, effective management, and utilization of client systems, infrastructure, and vendors, as well as the effective control and support of the physical environment. What you’ll be doing as our DCM: Ensuring that all data centre operations are carried out in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. Ensuring that the client facility is well maintained in accordance with client standards, making sure all controls are understood, implemented, and upheld by the Data Centre team. Monitoring Data Centre systems and infrastructure to ensure proper functioning and management. Developing and implementing policies and procedures for data centre operations. Managing the day-to-day operations of the data centre. Managing the day-to-day activities of the data centre staff. Ensuring that all data centre staff are properly trained and follow all policies and procedures. Setting team workloads, communicating goals, and deadlines. Establishing performance metrics for employees to measure their productivity and effectiveness. Conducting performance reviews and managing performance improvement where appropriate. Liaising with the customer to determine objectives and strategy. Creating service reports as required on a weekly and monthly basis as well as ad hoc requirements. Conducting audits and health checks of the operations to ensure high service quality. Building effective relationships with the client’s internal IT Service teams and key stakeholders. What we’re looking for in our DCM: Experience working in a financial services IT environment. Experience in a Data Centre Moves, Adds, and Changes environment (IT Hardware deployment). Experience in structured cabling installation and fault finding. Thorough knowledge of structured cabling standards and cable types (FTP, UTP & Optical Fibre). Self-starter, organized, detail-oriented, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Prioritization skills and multi-tasking ability. Ability to work under pressure. Excellent knowledge of asset management systems and ITSM ticketing systems. Excellent understanding of complex change management and service delivery processes. Service Management or support in a large-scale and diverse environment of incident management, escalation procedures, and project delivery disciplines. Leadership and people management skills. Target-setting and performance assessment. Experience of managing 3rd parties and 3rd party delivered services.
