Core Accountabilities: 1. Smart System Integration:
- Lead the integration of smart technologies, such as IoT sensors, SCADA systems, and AI-based predictive maintenance tools, across NWC’s operations.
- Ensure seamless interoperability between new and existing systems to enhance overall efficiency.
- Develop strategies to optimize water distribution networks, reduce energy consumption, and minimize operational costs.
- Implement data-driven approaches to improve system reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance water quality management.
- Oversee the deployment of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and other technologies to detect leaks, unauthorized consumption, and other sources of NRW.
- Collaborate with the NRW reduction team to design and implement effective strategies to reduce water losses.
- Utilize big data analytics to monitor and analyze system performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on system performance, operational efficiency, and smart technology impact to senior management.
- Manage projects related to the deployment of smart systems, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and technology providers to achieve project goals.
- Ensure that all smart systems and operations comply with national and international water safety standards and regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility in all operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, analysts, and technicians in the operation and control of smart water systems.
- Foster a continuous learning environment, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and best practices.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, technology partners, and customers, to align SMART operations with their needs and expectations.
- Participate in industry forums and conferences to stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in smart water management.
- Drive innovation within the operations department, exploring new technologies and approaches to further enhance service delivery.
- Implement continuous improvement programs to refine processes and achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and manage budgets for smart operations initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify training and development needs within the team, ensuring all members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Promote a safe and inclusive working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields), Information Technology, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or smart technologies are advantageous.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in either Arabic or English.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
- Proficient in data analytics and the use of advanced software tools for monitoring and control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
- Technical Leadership : Ability to lead and inspire teams, manage performance, and drive operational excellence.
- Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies, maintenance practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration : Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams, including customer services, to achieve shared objectives.
- Problem-Solving : Capable of identifying issues and implementing effective solutions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Financial Acumen : Skilled in budget management, cost control, and financial planning for large-scale operations.
- Innovation : Openness to adopting new technologies and practices to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all operational issues within the Abha branch, coordinating responses to emergencies and operational crises.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and community representatives, to maintain positive relationships and promote transparency.
- Represent the branch in industry forums, conferences, and regulatory discussions related to water and wastewater management.
