EHS Specialist

Primary Function: Manages the Environmental, Health and Safety team for single or multiple facilities. Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, occupational health and safety policies and procedures within the company. Ensures compliance with local regulations pertaining to environmental, occupational health and safety, including OSHA, and handles all contact with appropriate agencies. Develops, implements, and monitors company environmental, occupational health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local environmental, health, and safety regulations (including OSHA). Conducts training in emergency response, hazardous material handling, industrial hygiene, life safety, and ergonomic compliance regulated activities. Recommends corrective action/preventive action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist. Coordinates and provides team member-related environmental and safety programs. Major Responsibilities: Provide coordination to the organization, maintaining EHS & Security focus, ensuring best practices are in place. Maintain the highest standards of environmental health and safety control ensuring compliance with all Abbott policies and procedures and meeting all local statutory requirements. Develop and implement programs to meet current plant objectives and to meet future requirements ensuring achievement of the plant operations. Interface with Site Management, particularly in the areas of EHS Excellence and participate as a supportive member of the organization. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety/Environmental Science/Engineering or related discipline or Diploma with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an EHS role in a large-scale manufacturing plant. Workplace Safety & Health Officer registration preferred. Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels. Ability to work effectively with plant-wide teams to drive strong safety culture and environmental awareness in all employees. *Kindly note this position is based in Tuas.
