تفاصيل الوظيفة

Operations & Maintenance, Facility Management. Irrigation System Design and Development :

  1. System Design :
  • Design irrigation systems based on specific crop or landscape water requirements, soil types, topography, and climate conditions.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, including the layout of pipelines, pumps, control valves, sprinklers, and other necessary components.
  • Select appropriate irrigation technologies, such as drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, or center-pivot irrigation, based on the project requirements.
  • Design systems that maximize water efficiency and minimize waste, while ensuring uniform water distribution across the site.
  1. Water Source Evaluation :
  • Assess available water resources (e.g., wells, rivers, reservoirs) to determine the most suitable source for irrigation.
  • Design systems that integrate water harvesting techniques and ensure long-term sustainability of water resources.
  1. Technical Documentation :
  • Prepare technical specifications for the irrigation system components, including pumps, piping, and control systems.
  • Develop operation manuals and maintenance schedules for installed irrigation systems.
Project Implementation and Management :
  1. Installation Oversight :
  • Oversee the installation of irrigation systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors and technicians to ensure that installation is completed efficiently, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Perform quality checks to verify that all components are installed correctly and function as intended.
  1. Project Planning and Coordination :
  • Work closely with project managers, landowners, agronomists, and environmental consultants to plan irrigation projects.
  • Ensure that irrigation systems are designed to integrate with other systems, such as drainage, soil management, and pest control.
  • Prepare and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  1. Site Surveys and Assessments :
  • Conduct site assessments to analyze soil conditions, water availability, and land contours to design customized irrigation solutions.
  • Perform feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments to ensure that the irrigation system is sustainable and minimizes negative environmental effects.
System Testing and Optimization :
  1. System Testing :
  • Test irrigation systems after installation to ensure proper functioning, efficiency, and adequate water distribution.
  • Identify and address any operational issues, such as uneven water distribution, leaks, or system malfunctions.
  1. Water Efficiency Optimization :
  • Monitor irrigation system performance to ensure optimal water use and minimal wastage.
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve system efficiency, such as adjusting irrigation schedules or upgrading components.
  1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting :
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs for irrigation systems to ensure they operate effectively throughout their lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system repairs, upgrades, and modifications.
Sustainability and Environmental Impact :
  1. Water Conservation :
  • Design and implement irrigation solutions that promote water conservation and reduce water usage, including the integration of smart technologies such as weather-based controllers and soil moisture sensors.
  • Advise clients on water-efficient practices, such as rainwater harvesting and the use of recycled water for irrigation.
  1. Compliance and Standards :
  • Ensure that irrigation systems comply with local regulations, environmental standards, and water conservation laws.
  • Promote sustainable irrigation practices, such as reducing water run-off and improving water retention in soil.
Client Relations and Reporting :
  1. Client Consultation :
  • Work with clients to understand their irrigation needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Communicate clearly with clients about the performance and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  1. Reporting :
  • Provide regular project updates and reports on system performance, water usage, and maintenance requirements.
  • Document any issues encountered during the project and provide recommendations for improvements.
Skills Education and Experience :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • 5 years experience in MEP with a Bachelors in mechanical engineering. Experience in designing systems, irrigation requirements and calculations, and pumps maintenance, with driving license.
  • Experience with agriculture , landscape design , water management , or environmental engineering is beneficial.
Skills :
  • Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of irrigation systems, water resource management, and engineering principles.
  • Design Software : Proficiency in design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and irrigation-specific software (e.g., Irricad, HydroCAD).
  • Project Management : Strong project management skills, including the ability to handle timelines, budgets, and coordination between teams.
  • Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze soil conditions, climate data, water sources, and other factors to develop optimal irrigation systems.
  • Problem-Solving : Strong troubleshooting skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Communication : Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
  • Environmental Awareness : Understanding of sustainable practices in water management and the environmental impact of irrigation systems.
