The Unconventional business line is seeking top Operations Geoscientists with excellent geosteering experience to join the Unconventional Resources Realtime Operations Center at Saudi Aramco HQs.
As an Operations Geoscientist working on the Unconventional Program, the successful candidate will be able to integrate regional to field-scale geological evaluations, work hands-on delivering vertical and horizontal wells in the target zone with minimal supervision. The Operations Geoscientist will add value through building, executing and ensuring the delivery of wells as per multi-well field development program. The ideal candidate will be experienced with well planning, coring operations, directional drilling operations, and well logging. The candidate will be able to advise about geosteering directional wells at an SME level.
Candidate will be required to perform and demonstrate the following:
• Experienced utilizing advanced geosteering applications.
• Experienced with geosteering automation or assisted geosteering is an advantage.
• Geosteer complex wells using advanced LWD technology independently.
• Monitor well execution and operations maintaining proper communication with the rig site.
• Use drilling parameters and well correlations to identify coring points.
• Provide geological input on target selections and wellbore trajectory and geosteering operations.
• Knowledgeable on directional drilling technology use, RSS, and downhole motors.
• Document operations in written reports and illustrate with cross-sections, maps, etc.
• Evaluate current practices to identify improvement opportunities Company wide.
• Present methodology and project evaluation to technical management.
• Work on a 24/7 rotation schedule remotely monitoring operations from the headquarters.
• Work on shift rotation, days and nights as per the 8-hour shift program.
• Train junior professionals to develop the required real-time operations skills.
• Able to conduct data analytics using Python, TIBCO Spotfire, or similar is an advantage.
• Capable of performing 2D and 3D seismic interpretation is an advantage.
