Position: Manufacturing Engineer – Strong SolidWorks Modelling Experience Required! Location: Mississauga (On-Site) Job Type: Permanent We are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer with strong SolidWorks modelling experience for a great manufacturing client located in Mississauga. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and leading production engineering projects. This will include continuous improvement and quality improvement initiatives, troubleshooting, new technology recommendations and equipment and process implementations and the managing of these respective projects. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, lead and manage projects involving new equipment design, installation, movement, retrofitting and/or modification - Troubleshoot problems within manufacturing processes and implement solutions/improvements - Develop, maintain and improve operating policies, manufacturing/operator instructions and standards - Perform engineering studies to target efficiencies and develop lean and automation solutions - Contribute significantly to continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing processes and procedures - Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout - Involvement in the development and implementation of cost and inventory reduction activities - Address systemic quality issues that result from the manufacturing process including those that may arise from material handling, shipping, assembly, etc. - Reduce and remove nonvalue added time that is present in the manufacturing process - Participate in the design and development of new products to ensure design for manufacturability is a focus - Work with the maintenance group to identify preventative and predictive maintenance practices - Troubleshoot machinery using electrical, mechanical and control systems knowledge - Design and procure in-house solutions and equipment - Execute other duties as assigned Required Qualifications & Skills: - Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering - A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer in a continuous manufacturing and assembly environment - Hands on experience with troubleshooting manufacturing/production/line issues is a must - Experience with assembly automation an asset - Hands on experience with SolidWorks modelling is required!- Demonstrated experience in designing/implementing automation / capital projects and equipment - Professional, creative thinking, team player with an ability to handle multiple projects with the use of effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills - Strong mechanical/controls aptitude with hands on experience, must be a fast learner and have the ability to understand and be creative with the mechanics of machines - Exposure / Experience with PLC/HMI/SCADA is an asset - Must enjoy getting out on the floor and actively working with the Production Line Operators and Maintenance team To apply, please send your resume to Vanessa Tran at vanessa.tran@quantum.ca.
