Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon’s Airborne Radar Electronics group is seeking a Principal Network SATCOM Engineer to join our team. Our Fullerton team supports Command and Control (C2) products both domestically and internationally. This position will report directly to the Radar, C2 and Platform Integration section and provide technical leadership as well as electrical design. This Accompanied position will be onsite in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for an international assignment with additional compensation. Ability to travel to supplier and customer sites, both domestic and international. Occasional business trips to CONUS (2 to 3 per year). What You Will Do
- Provide solution sets for the corrective maintenance of SATCOM systems, network centric systems, and TDM COMM systems.
- Manage and maintain system wide network and VoIP.
- Design, configure and implement new interface to government system, as well as new sites to be integrated with C4I.
- Solve technical problems with Satellite Communication (SATCOM), networking platforms, and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) COMM.
- Train customer SATCOM system engineers to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot deployed SATCOM systems / terminals.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
- Experience in designing LAN/WAN architecture, VoIP, Security and VTC subsystems.
- Experience with integration and troubleshooting on SATCOM Ku-Band VSAT terminals, both fixed and mobile using MF-TDMA modem technology.
- Experience with background designing, implementing and troubleshooting of large scale Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN).
- Experience configuring and trouble-shooting LAN Switches, Routers, and Firewalls.
- Experience using scripts to auto-generate Cisco router and switch configurations.
- Excellent knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching fundamentals.
- Experience working with a multi-functional team to maintain and troubleshoot system hardware to meet system requirements.
- Experience with designing a network interface with 3rd party VTC system.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Infrastructure-related certifications preferred such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Experience with VPN technologies and protocols including IPSEC and SSL.
- Experience with Telecommunication TDM engineering.
- Experience in two or more of these areas: large network design implementation including network routing, network security, Access Control List, Firewall rules, IPSec VPN tunnels implementation, QoS, CUCM server’s configuration, CUCM VoIP bandwidth design and implementation, IP address and VLAN design and implementation.
- Familiarity with SKYWAN SATCOM.
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, HSRP and IPV6.
- Understanding the functionality of a Network Management System (NMS) using the SNMP protocol for SATCOM system status and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of commercial encryption standards.
- Ability to work independently yet collaboratively in a team environment.
