Managing Director - Investigations, Diligence and Compliance Kroll’s Investigations, Diligence and Compliance (“IDC”) practice is world-renowned for our trusted experts, global resources, local insight, and actionable results. Our investigative services include financial, internal, and regulatory investigations, asset searches, brand protection, forensic accounting, dispute advisory services, litigation support, business/market entry intelligence, transaction intelligence, proxy contests, intellectual property infringement, product counterfeiting, and regulatory or court-ordered monitorships. Kroll’s IDC practice is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of professionals who include former prosecutors, law enforcement officers, journalists, certified public and forensic accountants, data analytics experts, and certified fraud examiners. Summary of Position As Managing Director within Kroll’s Sydney IDC team, you will be an operationally-focused forensic accounting and internal investigations leader, with business development and marketing duties. You will represent the Kroll brand as it continues to grow in the ASEAN market. You will be responsible for execution and delivery of local and international (multijurisdictional) internal investigations, focusing on fraud investigations related to insolvency, corruption, and disputes. You will be a critical part of the global IDC Financial Investigations team, involved in some of Kroll’s highest profile and complex matters, potentially supporting cases across Asia-Pacific and beyond. You will impact the setup and design of the IDC practice as a senior member of the rapidly growing ANZ practice, overseeing the development of forensic accounting, internal investigations, and financial crimes advisory matters. You will identify new business opportunities and be involved in marketing and product initiatives, utilizing your knowledge from conducting detailed business analysis supported by investigations. Your responsibilities will include negotiating and reviewing project contracts, drafting proposals, managing the pipeline, supporting client executives in closing deals, and drafting thought leadership content. Above all, you must demonstrate passion and energy for this role, with the confidence and ability to drive Kroll’s leadership in this dynamic field. Responsibilities: Act as an expert in internal investigation, fraud, and anti-bribery and corruption issues. Work closely with cyber risk and cyber forensics teams. Contribute to the growth of the IDC practice, developing and implementing strategic plans. Influence and collaborate with practitioners across Kroll. Manage projects throughout the engagement lifecycle. Represent Kroll at speaking engagements and industry events. Mentor and develop staff to ensure client objectives are met. Contribute to the professional development of junior team members. Demonstrate excellent judgment and a commitment to professional excellence. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Journalism, International Relations, International Business, Political Science, Law, or Security Studies. 15+ years of professional service leadership in investigation and forensic accounting. Proven experience in business development and managing partnerships. Success in acquiring consulting projects with significant revenue. Experience in managing high-quality investigative casework. Experience working with diverse teams and C-Level executives. Expertise in contract preparation and execution. Strong influencing skills across business lines. Ability to think independently and make sound decisions. Local accountancy qualifications are an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office products. Willingness to travel up to 50%. The role requires a high level of organisational ability, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and an analytical mind.
