Listed Group in the retail industry requires a visual merchandiser for one of their large national Brands. This position will commence on a fixed-term contract and will become permanent on successful completion of the contract. The ideal candidate is someone with flair for design and an understanding of the latest fashion trends in home finishings/improvement to best showcase the extensive product range. The advertised salary is a Cost to Company amount. The successful candidate will report to the Merchandise Director and will be required to:
- Read and understand the floor plan/layout
- Have experience in interior design / interior decorating/ lifestyle design
- Have a design software background
- Have a relevant educational background
- The candidate must be willing and able to travel nationally; therefore, a valid driving license is a MUST to have
- Work 2 Saturdays in a month and public holidays (the company will be closed on Christmas day, Good Friday & Easter Monday) - however, the hours that she/he will be required to work each week may change from time to time according to the needs of the business
- Creating merchandising solutions for stores together with the design team.
- Working with the design team on designing new stores, revamping existing stores' layout, and relocations.
- Work closely with shopfitters on existing stores, new stores, revamps, and relocations to improve the customer shopping experience.
- Monitor store development costs against budget.
- Liaise with the properties department and compile a store development forecast to plan upcoming relocations, revamps, and new stores.
- Liaise with various departments within the business to ensure the implementation and planning of the new stores and relocations.
- Place orders for marketing material for new stores, revamps, and relocations.
- Oversee work onsite for new stores and revamps. Project manage and oversee work onsite.
- Work closely with regional leaders regarding new stores and revamps.
- Must be able to track store performance post-revamp (Return On Investment).
- Communicate with different suppliers on display installation.
- Arrange store development meetings regularly to ensure all departments are in alignment.
- Create and update merchandising manual.
- Train staff on how to merchandise, promo execution, and create floor displays in a store.
- Conduct regular store visits and assist with improving the layout of stores.
- Help staff with any new marketing or installation of any Point-of-sale items.
- Create guidelines to assist staff with promos and displays.
- Matric/ Grade 12 - non-negotiable
- BA degree or equivalent interior design qualification.
- Experience in Visual Merchandising, Project Management, and in the Store Development field
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be diligent and disciplined.

- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a VM Role within a similar company or the greater retail.
