Join the Civmec Team We have an exciting opportunity for both Advanced Scaffolders and Scaffolding Supervisors to join our dynamic team on the Rio Tinto Western Range Project in the Pilbara, Western Australia. This iron ore project is currently working on a Greenfields scope, featuring the construction of a new run-of-mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit, HV switching, and associated plant.
- 3:1 FIFO dayshift roster for Scaffolders.
- 2:1 FIFO dayshift roster for Scaffolding Supervisors.
- Flights from all capital cities in Australia (excluding Cairns), including provided accommodation for training in Perth prior to mobilisation.
- Erect, install and position various sections of scaffolding
- Erect guard rails, ropes and laying planks to form various sections of scaffolding
- Fit bolting tubes, support braces and various components to form bases and build up scaffolding
- Erect and attach tackles and pulleys to overhead structures
- Install Cables and counterweights to overhead structures
- Conduct or participate in daily pre-starts and tool box meetings;
- Identify, assess and control workplace hazard. Hazards may be reported through hazard report cards, JHA’s, workplace inspections, incident investigations or audits.
- Formulate safe methods of work in consultation with the HSE Advisor and workforce personnel. This includes safety and risk related documentation such as SWP’s, JHA’s and take 5’s. Ensure the workforce is using documentation as stipulated in the HSE plan.
- Participate in all HSE initiatives and risk assessments where required;
- Maintaining good housekeeping across the work area;
- Reporting hazards and incidents in the area under his/her responsibility and seek further assistance from the HSE Advisor.
- Compliance with Safety KPI’s assigned to you on your project.
- Current HRWL (SA, and SA VOC)
- Current Working Safety at Heights Certificate
- Current Enter and Work in Confined Space Certificate
- Nationally Recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
- Willingness to Complete Face to Face Aveling Training, Online Inductions and a Pre-Employment Medical.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the relevant discipline and similar industry. Ideally experience in the mining and construction industry.
- Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and resource management is essential.
