Position Overview:The Information Security Officer (ISO) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive information security program for the university. This includes policies, risk management strategies, incident response plans, and initiatives to protect sensitive data, systems, and infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Develop and Implement Security PoliciesCreate and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to protect sensitive data, including student records, financial information, and intellectual property.Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards such as FERPA, GDPR, and ISO.Risk ManagementConduct regular risk assessments to identify and evaluate security risks and vulnerabilities.Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address identified risks effectively.Incident Response and ManagementEstablish and maintain an incident response plan for handling security breaches and other incidents.Lead response efforts during security incidents, ensuring timely communication and resolution.Security Awareness and TrainingDevelop and implement training programs to promote security awareness among faculty, staff, and students.Provide regular updates on emerging security threats and best practices.Data Protection and PrivacyEnsure sensitive data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.Implement robust access controls to restrict data access to authorized personnel only.Technology and Infrastructure SecurityDesign and maintain a secure IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and applications.Regularly update and patch systems to address vulnerabilities.Collaboration and CoordinationCollaborate with IT, legal, academic, and other departments to ensure a unified security approach.Engage with external partners, including vendors and law enforcement, to enhance security measures.Monitoring and ReportingDeploy tools and processes for continuous monitoring of IT systems to detect and respond to threats.Provide detailed reports on the university's security posture to senior management and stakeholders.Budget ManagementPlan and manage the budget for the university's information security program, ensuring efficient resource allocation.Innovation and ImprovementStay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and threats.Identify and implement innovative security practices to enhance the university's protection strategies.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.5-10 years of experience in information security or related fields, with a proven track record in managing security programs.Hands-on experience in technical security roles or operations with a strong interest in cybersecurity.Proficiency in encryption technologies, access control methods, and network security protocols.Strong communication skills to effectively convey security concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.What We OfferCompetitive base salary with performance-based bonusesComprehensive health and retirement benefitsProfessional development opportunitiesOpportunity to shape the future of AI educationAbout Saras AI InstituteSaras AI Institute is revolutionizing higher education as the world's first AI-only, US-based online institution.
