PLC Programmer

*Location: *Ayr, Ontario (Near Cambridge, Kitchener/Waterloo)*Hours of Work: STRAIGHT AFTERNOON SHIFT *Monday to Friday 2:00PM - 10:00pM Bend All Automotive ULC (BAA) is a leading supplier of Automotive Components and Automation Tooling Equipment. BAA supports customers worldwide with leading technology through product design, prototyping, product validation, tool building and a flexible streamlined manufacturing process. We are seeking a PLC Programmer for our Canadian head office Production Plant. *Primary Responsibilities:** *Existing Machine Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvements* Work with each plant’s maintenance and production departments, help troubleshoot programming errors, electrical problems and mechanical issues. Make adjustments to machine programs to allow more parts to run, increase efficiency, decrease cycle time, improve throughput. Implement new sensors, cylinders, devices to existing machine programs. * *Documentation, Revision History, Safety* Provide detailed programming descriptors and documentation of program. Complete machine specific documentation such as operators’ manuals, start up instructions, etc. Ensure the current and most up to date programs properly stored in the appropriate folders. Ensure safety procedures and lock out policy followed at all times. *Qualifications (education & skills required):** Post secondary education in electrical/electronics engineering, electrical engineering technology, or mechanical engineering technology – robotics and automation, or licensed electrician. * Minimum 2 years PLC Allen Brandley experience (Rslogix500 Rslogix5000 Studio5000)* Practical knowledge of KUKA, Motoman and Fanuc robotics * Knowledge of electrical schematics, instrumentation drawings, and control panel drawings * Thorough knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and DC servomotors * Knowledge of machine automation, assembly systems integration and applications of robotics * Thorough knowledge of electrical devices, and the ability to troubleshoot electrical installations * Knowledge of safety systems in accordance to current applicable standards * A thorough understanding of control systems, machine operation and PLC programming * Ability to program using IEC 61131-3 programming standards * Ability to commission operator interfaces and data collection systems * Superior analytical and problem-solving skills * Capable of working in a high-pressure environment, with the ability to multi-task * Strong communication skills; both verbal and written * Five or more years of experience with PLC programming and hardware in an automotive environment in tube forming and bending is essential * Experience programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley, Omron, Siemens and Twin CAT on new and existing machinery. * AutoCAD experience an asset * Experience working with Maintenance Department to complete maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment * Field experience in set ups and commissioning of equipment * Some travel and on call responsibilities will apply Only candidates that meet all minimum requirements for this role will be interviewed.
