We’re looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join our dynamic team, grow their skills, and contribute to innovative, large-scale projects. Sarens in Southern Africa includes subsidiary operations in various countries in the Southern African region, over and above various operations within South Africa, where Sarens Siba has offices and operations in Bedfordview (Gauteng), Sasolburg (Free State province) and Cape Town (Western Cape province). In the execution of various heavy lifting and engineered transport projects, Sarens Siba utilise the services of qualified engineers to produce FEED-studies (Front End Engineering Design - Studies) and to analyse drawings, sketches and/or other relevant information provided by internal stakeholders, to propose possible solutions to internal stakeholders in order to efficiently produce drawings using CAD software per Sarens drawing standards, providing a blueprint for the operations team to transform engineering concepts into reality. What You'll Do:
- Research & Innovate: Develop cutting-edge applications and strategies for equipment utilization in heavy lifting and transport.
- Conceptual Design: Conduct feasibility studies and create tailored lifting solutions.
- Detailed Design: Produce accurate drawings using CAD Software while adhering to client specifications and safety regulations.
- Technical Evaluation: Analyze tenders, investigate project requirements, and recommend cost-effective designs and technical solutions.
- Fit-for-Purpose Solutions: Ensure all designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with safety regulations.
- Design Validation: Perform engineering calculations using software tools and validate technical designs.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project documents, including method statements and equipment specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet accuracy, completeness, and compliance standards.
- Site Engagement: Conduct regular site visits as required to ensure alignment between designs and operations.
