The Role:

As the Vice President of Engineering at Altura, you will report directly to the CEO and work closely with cross-functional leaders to develop, execute, and scale our engineering strategy. You'll oversee our talented engineering team and recruit more engineers along the way. You will be responsible for building a world-class engineering culture, scaling the team, and delivering exceptional technical outcomes to support Altura's ambitious growth trajectory.

Altura currently uses the Shape Up methodology for engineering, which focuses on fixed cycles, empowered teams, and structured problem-solving to deliver high-impact projects with clear boundaries and minimal scope creep. Your role will include refining and adapting this approach as we scale.

You Will:

Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the engineering vision, ensuring alignment with Altura's product and business goals as we expand internationally.

Team Growth & Management: Scale the engineering team, attract top-tier talent, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ownership.

Execution & Delivery: Oversee the successful execution of engineering projects using the Shape Up methodology, ensuring teams deliver high-quality, impactful solutions on time.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, data, and customer success teams to prioritize engineering efforts and ensure alignment with market needs.

Scalability: Develop and implement scalable engineering processes, tools, and best practices to support Altura's growth.

Innovation: Leverage AI and other emerging technologies to enhance our platform and drive competitive differentiation.

Ownership of Technical Roadmap: Ensure technical decisions support Altura's long-term goals, balancing innovation with reliability and scalability.

Planning: Define KPIs, manage budgets, and ensure timely project delivery.

You Have:

Leadership: Significant experience leading and scaling teams + culture, with a passion for developing talent and fostering inclusivity.

SaaS & AI Expertise: Proven track record of scaling engineering teams and delivering products in a SaaS environment; experience with AI/ML solutions is highly desirable.

Startup Growth: Experience scaling engineering teams and processes in high-growth startup environments.

Technical Background: Strong understanding of backend architecture (e.g., C#, Python) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).

Customer-Centricity: Deep commitment to delivering value for customers and ensuring technical solutions align with their needs.

Product Insights: Familiarity with product lifecycle management, from prototyping to industrialization.
