Job title: Buyer - for Global Energy SectorCompany: Apt ResourcesJob description: Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Buyer with expertise in the global energy sector to join our client's dynamic team in Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring equipment, materials, and services critical to the energy industry. The position requires a strong understanding of market trends, supply chain processes, and procurement strategies specific to the energy sector. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, government agencies, management, and the community, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage purchase orders, monitor vendor compliance and performance, and support vendor evaluation activities.ResponsibilitiesAssist in creating and updating procurement tools and forms to support departmental needs.Support the compilation of departmental procurement requirements into the annual organizational procurement plan.Execute the procurement process by initiating methods such as tendering or direct purchases.Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in the types, quantities, and prices of goods and services.Coordinate with suppliers to fulfill the organization's purchasing needs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.Monitor the delivery of purchase orders, verifying compliance with technical specifications regarding quality and quantity.Assist in reviewing and tracking the procurement plan, monitoring expenditures and savings to support report preparation, and in selecting and engaging suppliers to meet organizational purchasing requirements.Maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and addressing any issues relating to quality, delivery, or invoicing.Oversee contracts with external vendors, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and performance metrics.Prepare and raise Call-off orders and order schedules.Support the evaluation of supplier performance and contribute to vendor selection decisions.Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.Manage logistics of office supplies, equipment, and other essentials to support daily operations.Provide general administrative support to the procurement department, including handling inquiries and documentation.Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, staff, and visitors.Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes, and practices, considering global standards, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction.Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate comparative statements and reports to meet department requirements, policies, and quality standards, providing recommendations accordingly.The role operates within a dynamic corporate environment where key decisions significantly impact the Administration division. Such decisions require consultation with and approval from the direct Line Manager before implementation.Operates under the mandates authorized by the responsible Line Manager, ensuring all functional and operational activities are managed with high standards of quality and reporting, thus upholding accountability and transparency.Participates in the execution of the Administration division's comprehensive business and operational strategy. Responsible for contributing to meeting business and operational goals within functional areas.Provide the leadership team with insightful information and data with regard to handled functional areas.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline from a reputable university is required.8 years of experience in similar roles within large companies, with at least 3 years in progressively increasing managerial responsibilities, demonstrating strong leadership skills.Familiarity with SAP or Oracle systems is a MUST.Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.Solid understanding of the power, energy, and water sectors, along with emerging trends and technologies.Proficiency in English (mandatory); Arabic language skills are a plus.Proven hands-on operational and implementation experience.Ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, senior executives, management teams, and external partners/advisors.Strong communication and presentation skills.Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environments.Must be willing to relocate to Qatar.Benefits:Basic Salary: QAR 20,000Married Status Benefits: Includes Housing and TransportationAnnual flights for self, spouse, and up to 3 children (up to age 18)Education allowance for up to 3 children (up to age 18)Health insurance for self, spouse, and up to 3 children (up to age 18)Life insurance for self onlyAnnual performance-related bonus - up to 2.5 times the monthly base salary5-star hotel accommodation provided for the first 30 days upon arrival in Qatar30 days annual paid vacationExpected salary: 20000 per monthLocation: Doha, QatarJob posting date: Thu, 19 Dec 2024 03:47:09 GMTApply for the job now!
