HEAD OF IT Job Description The Head of IT will lead a team and manage all technology-based systems and applications for the College, supporting its vision, mission and values. The incumbent will develop IT strategies aligned with the College's mission and values, enhance digital infrastructure and implement/upgrade systems that foster greater operational efficiency, data security and engagement. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy focusing on cost-effectiveness, innovation and security. Advise senior leadership on technology investments and roadmap planning. Keep current with emerging technologies, particularly AI and their relevance to the College's educational needs. Oversee the management and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including network systems, hardware, firmware and software applications. Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place, including risk assessments, data protection protocols and compliance with regulations. Direct the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Lead the integration of digital learning and teaching platforms, supporting online and hybrid instructional methods. Collaborate with faculty to incorporate AI tools and resources that enrich the academic experience. Provide IT support and training to faculty, staff, and students. Manage IT-related projects, ensuring they meet stakeholder needs. Coordinate with other Departments to implement systems that improve administrative efficiency and support data-driven decision-making. Oversee third-party vendors and consultants for project execution and contract negotiations. Lead, mentor and develop an IT team, fostering a culture of service and continuous improvement. Promote staff training and professional development opportunities to ensure the team remains current with technological advancements. Develop and manage the IT Department's budget, optimizing resources and expenditures aligning with organizational priorities. Seek cost-effective solutions to maximize the Department's impact within budget constraints. Explore Grant opportunities or partnerships to fund technology initiatives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. Master's degree is preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in IT management with experience in the education sector preferred. Proven knowledge in IT infrastructure, networking, software development, cybersecurity and project management. Proficiency with cloud platforms and learning management systems. Strong team leadership, mentorship and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with faith-based education and educational environment. A visionary approach to leveraging technology in education. Resourcefulness and innovation in optimizing limited resources. This role requires occasional evening or weekend work to support events, system updates, equipment/power and other forms of IT maintenance or project deadlines. $120,000 - $150,000 per annum #J-18808-Ljbffr
