Main job function To ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the coordination of patient care and management of the unit. KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1. Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards.
2. Manage the patient experience.
3. Ensure optimal supply, retention, and utilization of staffing resources.
4. Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development.
5. Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital).

1. Degree/Diploma in General Nursing.

1. Midwifery.
2. Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty area.

1. 3 years post-qualification experience.

2. Nursing record keeping.
3. Nursing processes and procedures.
4. Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
5. Relevant nursing legislation.
6. Infection prevention and control.
7. Scientific nursing principles and process.
8. Audit patient records.

10. Develop/modify a nursing care plan.
11. Scope of practice for nurse practitioners.
12. For specialised wards; ACLS; ATLS; PALS trained.
13. Risk identification.
14. Analysing and interpretation skills.
15. Basic life support trained.
