POSITION VACANCY Manufacturing Environmental Sustainability Manager POSITION SNAPSHOT Location: Cairo - Egypt Company: Nestlé MENA Full-time POSITION SUMMARY Joining Nestlé means you are joining the largest Food and Beverage company in the world. You will be responsible for ensuring Compliance, Competence and Talent development is in place, to excel and achieve the factories' environmental sustainability targets. Provide engineering professional and technical leadership and guidance for all MENA factories, within the dimensions of Environmental Sustainability (Green House Gases -GHG-, Energy and Water management), as well as in Renewable Electricity, to ensure a proper industrial set-up is implemented and available to support the BUs. Technical leadership should also be provided for the full scope of emissions where projects towards the net zero ambitions are to be formulated and driven across OPCs. Ensure that the objectives of the environmental sustainability business cases, design specifications, and Nestlé standards are implemented and adhered to. Set a governance model to ensure the MENA environmental sustainability roadmap is on track and on time support/escalation is provided to sites based on the challenges/circumstances. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify external and internal trends, opportunities, risks and issues, and understand how they relate to the manufacturing processes. Lead and support positive and impactful internal and external engagement, providing functional leadership on manufacturing sustainability, acting as a manufacturing sustainability role model and developing the sustainability knowledge and capabilities in the Market at all levels and in all Functions. SCOPE:
- Support to all MENA F&B and NW factories and all MENA Product Categories
- Impact on the Net Zero MENA Roadmap fulfilment
- Impact on Primary Energy MENA Cost (20 mil USD per year)
- Impact on the Global Water and GHG commitments
- GHG/Energy/Water Management - Ensure optimum and sustainable Manufacturing operations can be achieved with YoY improvements, by leading and driving plus leveraging opportunities in all Environmental Sustainability and Industrial Services dimensions
- Drive the development of a continuous 3Y vision and improvements projects pipeline in the dimensions of energy, water, RE and GHG emissions - Ensure Operations development with respect to the future (people, communities, and planet), by providing and driving an Environmentally Sustainable Industrial set up.
- Develop and manage the Net Zero Roadmap for MENA Manufacturing, and drive its implementation, leading to 100% fulfilment of the 2025 and 2030 Corporate targets.
- Ensure Engineering Functional Compliance and Continuous Improvement is in place for Environmental Sustainability and other related topics (including Industrial Services) in Manufacturing, in alignment with Business strategies.
- Excel in Stakeholders Management (keep all stakeholders informed and trigger extraordinary steering committee meetings as needed). Keep all the required communication channels open.
- Ensure that the procedures for protecting Nestlé's technological and proprietary know-how are in place and actively being implemented.
- Define sustainability priorities based upon corporate commitments and market level issues; develop and operationalize the strategy (scope, priorities, timelines). Define targets, monitor and report on progress.
- Build connections & teams to work with flexibility on cross-functional projects. Develop positions and policies in line with corporate positions and advocate accordingly.
- Recognized competence in his/her area of expertise (inside or/and outside Nestlé and, e.g. publications, participation in Conferences, projects' implementation, etc.)
- Factory experience (shopfloor exposure as Project Engineer, Industrial Services Manager, or similar roles)
- Industrial Services related project and/or operational exposure
- Internal and external stakeholder management exposure
- Working in and leading cross-functional teams
- Delivery of trainings, competencies building and demos relating to IS and environmental sustainability, including the tools used internally to report on environmental performance such as SHE-PM
- Degree in Engineering (like Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental Engineering)
- Determination to maximize people and/or equipment safety in IS and related areas
- Leading groups of international people (multicultural diversity), in different environments and situations while not having formal authority over all of them.
- Effective communication at different levels within the organization (Business, Management, R&D, Shopfloor, etc.) and externally (government, local authorities, suppliers, etc.)
- Desirable personal attributes
