Job Responsibilities
- Rapidly assess and triage patients based on the severity of their condition, ensuring timely medical intervention.
- Administer emergency medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for critically ill patients.
- Perform life-saving procedures such as intubation, CPR, and defibrillation, demonstrating advanced clinical skills under pressure.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, to ensure continuity of care.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions in a compassionate manner.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and training to enhance response capabilities for various medical emergencies.
- Utilize advanced medical technology and equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance to optimize patient care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to uphold the highest level of patient safety and care.
- Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on best practices and advancements in emergency care.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity setting, preferably in an emergency department or trauma unit.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals in high-stress situations.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and moving patients when necessary.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred, with proficiency in English and another language to cater to diverse patient populations.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and efficient information retrieval.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and participating in ongoing training and certification programs in emergency care.
- Demonstrated resilience and adaptability to manage the emotional and physical demands of emergency nursing.
