Job Overview Experienced Cloud Developer responsible for building and optimizing cloud-based applications and services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Design and implement scalable REST APIs using Google Cloud Functions, integrate with Firestore and BigQueryImplement secure authentication using Firebase. Experience with GraphQL is a plus. Closely work with the Science & Engineering team to build and deliver high-quality, scalable cloud solutions that are performant, cost-effective, and secure. Responsibilities Cloud Functions Development : Design and implement serverless applications using Google Cloud Functions for scalable and event-driven architecture. Scalable REST API Development: Build and maintain RESTful APIs that can handle high traffic, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. Database Integration (Firestore & BigQuery) : Develop efficient, reliable data models and queries with Firestore and BigQuery, ensuring smooth integration with cloud functions and APIs. Firebase Authentication : Implement and manage user authentication flows with Firebase Authentication, ensuring security and seamless user experiences.Storage Solutions: Use Google Cloud Storage and other GCP services to build robust file storage solutions that meet business needs. API Design and Optimization: Architect APIs that support dynamically growing number of users and ensure low latency, high availability, and easy maintenance. Code Quality & Collaboration: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.Documentation & Best Practices: Document API specifications, integration processes, and system designs. Follow industry best practices for cloud architecture and security. Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize GCP monitoring tools (e.g., Stackdriver) to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize cloud resources. Required Skills and ExperienceGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP):Extensive experience with Google Cloud services, especially Cloud Functions, Firestore, Firebase Authentication, Google Cloud Storage, and BigQueryREST API Development : Proven experience building scalable and performant REST APIs with knowledge of best practices for API design, security, and versioning. Cloud Databases : Hands-on experience with Firestore and BigQuery, including querying, indexing, and optimizing for performance. Authentication & Security: Deep understanding of Firebase Authentication, OAuth2.0, JWT, and general security practices in cloud applications. Serverless Architecture : Strong experience with serverless computing and event-driven architectures, particularly using Google Cloud Functions. Programming Languages : Proficiency in languages commonly used for cloud development, such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Go, or Java. Version Control & CI/CD: Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications. Cloud Monitoring & Optimization : Familiarity with GCP monitoring, logging, and optimization tools to improve application performance. Preferred Skills GraphQL: Experience building or integrating GraphQL APIs is a plus. -Cloud Security Best Practices:Familiarity with cloud security practices, including role-based access control (RBAC), IAM, and encryption. Agile/Scrum : Experience working in Agile development environments with continuous integration and iterative development processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3-5 years of professional cloud development experience with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
