Clinical Nurse Leader - NICU Qatar Job Identification: 1843 Job Category: Nursing Locations: Qatar Posting Date: 01/25/2024 Apply Before: 02/01/2024 Job Schedule: Full time Job DescriptionNICU Clinical Nurse LeaderOur quaternary neonatal unit is the only surgical referral center in the state of Qatar, providing family-centered care in a state-of-the-art NICU. We provide care for sick and premature infants, including those with cardiac and surgical conditions. We are looking to recruit dynamic, motivated neonatal nurses with at least 5 years of clinical experience in a tertiary level medical/surgical NICU and proven leadership skills to join our exceptional team.The Clinical Nurse Leader demonstrates clinical expertise, strong leadership, and collaborative skills in interactions with staff and members of the healthcare team. The Clinical Nurse Leader supports the Clinical Nurse Manager in leading, precepting, and mentoring the nursing and midwifery staff as a clinical expert in the unit/service. The incumbent is accountable for shift coordination, patient flow, patient experience, and resource allocation.KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:Leadership/People ManagementMakes day-to-day decisions regarding unit operations that impact safety, quality, and efficiency in patient care.Participates in the employee performance appraisal cycle and assists with action plans as necessary.Supports the selection, development, and retention of all staff.Role models professional behaviors and appearance in line with policies and values.Promotes a quality learning environment for students, interns, and nurse residents.Role models patient experience principles and identifies opportunities to improve the patient experience.Collaborates with leadership to enhance and optimize patient and family experience.Professionalism and Ethical PracticePractices within the DHP Scope of Practice according to licensure within the State of Qatar.Maintains licensure and regulatory requirements.Demonstrates accountability for professional judgment, actions, and outcomes of care.Displays sound analytical and critical thinking ability in complex situations.Assumes responsibility for the delegation of aspects of care delivery.Assumes responsibility for own professional development throughout lifelong learning.Patient and Family Centered CareDelivers nursing care and rounds to support patient care.Prioritizes patients based on centered assessment and plan of care.Coordinates complex patient care needs in collaboration with other health care team members.Facilitates patient flow and coordinates activities and communication during shift.Communicates effectively with patients and families.Supports effective discharge and follow-up planning.Promotes evaluation of learning needs for patients and families.Teamwork and CollaborationProvides shift supervision and guidance to staff.Coordinates with Clinical Site Management Team on patient bed assignments.Acts as a resource for staff/team members.Monitors nursing/midwifery workload and patient acuity for safety.Coordinates daily administrative and clinical duties.Evidence Based PracticeAdheres to and promotes the use of Nursing and Midwifery Standards of Practice.Demonstrates clinical competency by delivering evidence-based care.Monitors staff practice for adherence to policy and guidelines.Encourages participation in unit-based simulation activities.Quality ImprovementIdentifies patient care issues and ways to improve quality and outcomes.Facilitates and leads quality and performance improvement activities.Participates in activities related to organization accreditation.SafetyEnsures safe and high-quality patient care during shift.Leads in identifying safety issues and ensures reporting of incidents.Oversees appropriate delegation of tasks.InformaticsRole models correct use of IT systems and maintains documentation standards.GeneralAdheres to standards in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.Other duties as assigned.This job description forms the basis of the requirements for the role. The incumbent may be required to undertake specific assigned tasks relevant to their area of work.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS - SELECTION CRITERIAESSENTIALBachelor Degree in Nursing (4 years) or Diploma in Nursing (3 years after post high school) and Registered Nurse.PREFERREDMaster's Degree in Nursing.Experience4+ years of recent clinical nursing experience including 2+ years leadership/supervisory experience in specialty area.Certification and LicensureValid professional nursing license in country of origin and meets licensing requirements of the State of Qatar.Professional MembershipMember of a professional nursing association.Job Specific Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with internal stakeholders.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.About UsSidra Medicine represents the vision of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
