Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have a fantastic permanent opportunity as a Contract Engineer joining our Road Asset, Maintenance & Renewals Team, based in North Auckland. Responsible for assisting the Contract Manager in the management of the road maintenance contract and the programming and delivery of road maintenance and renewal works to maintain the road network to the desired levels of service. This role forms part of the combined road maintenance team (AT/supplier) and will support the Contract Manager in establishing and maintaining a strong collaborative working relationship with our supplier to support the intent and objectives of the Collaborative Maintenance Partnership (CMP) contract.A typical day might include:
- The delivery of road maintenance and renewal works and achievement of the contract's objectives and desired outcomes in the respective contract area.
- Reviewing and approving the contractor's monthly work programs.
- Managing the delivery of the annual road maintenance and renewal programs.
- Reviewing and certifying the quantity and quality of completed work, for payment and quality assurance purposes.
- Formulating written responses to customer requests.
- Developing solutions that meet our customers' needs, while maintaining a safe and high-performance network.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
As a seasoned professional, you will bring 2-5 years' post-graduate experience in the delivery of road maintenance and/or road renewal or related construction activities. Ideally you will have:- Experience in the use of RAMM, including RAMM Contractor, Network Manager and RAMM GIS.
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a relevant discipline or significant proven experience in a similar role.
- Results focused with demonstrated use of initiative, proactive problem solving and a 'can do' attitude to solve complex challenges - particularly across diverse stakeholders and business units.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills.
- High customer orientation while maintaining a delivery focus.
