Job Description Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (Marine & Offshore) Well Established Marine & Offshore MNC 5 Days Work Week Salary (commensurate with experience): Up to $6,000 Working Location: Tuas Outpatient Medical Insurance Provided Duration: Permanent Industry: Marine & Offshore Main Responsibilities: Assist Section Project Lead in day-to-day operations. Perform the assigned mechanical task under quality and schedule. Review and advise on the project’s design mode & standard. Familiar with Class regulation/rules, product, standard. Report the project daily discipline (Man-hour/Schedule etc.). Able to work with other team members for the overall progress of the project. Feedback for profession’s design mode & standard. Train & guide other project mechanical engineers (AE or draft man) to work together. Study & solve the project issues under mechanical responsibility. Attend and report in project and section meetings. Complete the assigned tasks for different project drawings or documents. Prepare & review HVAC calculation, specification and vendor's drawing. Prepare & review HVAC 2D SLD/DLD design & submission. Prepare & review HVAC 3D model and production & site related drawings/supports. Support Project Section Lead in mechanical technical issues. Coordinate with shipyard/consultant/vendor. Responsible to Mechanical Project Section Lead / Mechanical Technical Lead. Project handling - New building project, repair, upgrading, conversion project. Requirements: Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline. At least 5 years of relevant work experience in machinery or HVAC newbuilding design in the Marine & Offshore industry. Familiar with AutoCAD, MS Office & AVEVA software. Familiar with rules and regulations from Classification Society and Authorities. Familiar with theory and calculation of marine/offshore mechanical & piping design. Able to perform mechanical design (2D & 3D) independently. Able to review equipment documents.
