Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Governance Lead to oversee the design and implementation of the data governance framework while managing a team of data governance specialists. This role requires a hands-on approach to governance implementation, including strategic decision-making, technical leadership, and ensuring the alignment of data governance initiatives with organizational goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage and mentor a team of data governance specialists in the design, implementation, and enforcement of data governance policies.
2. Lead the development and integration of governance policies and strategies into data pipelines and data platforms.
3. Design and develop a strategic data governance roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
4. Enforce data quality standards, manage metadata, and maintain data catalogs for discoverability and traceability.
5. Ensure compliance with regulations. Implement data protection measures (encryption, masking, access controls) and conduct compliance audits.
6. Maintain documentation of governance processes and generate reports on governance quality.

REQUIREMENTS

1. 5+ years of experience in data governance, data engineering, or related roles.
2. Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving data governance initiatives.
3. Strong knowledge of data governance principles and frameworks.
4. Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
5. In-depth understanding of data security concepts (encryption, masking, access control, network security) and privacy regulations.
6. Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages.
7. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Alicloud, AWS, Azure, GCP).
8. Experience with data governance tools.

GOOD-TO-HAVE

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Security, or related field.
