Database Administrator - MySQL

Job Description :- Design, install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to support AMI applications and services.- Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability.- Ensure optimal database performance by monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving performance bottlenecks.- Analyze and refine complex SQL queries for high-volume data processing.- Implement backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and failover systems to ensure high availability.- Perform routine database maintenance, including patch management and version upgrades.- Optimize data storage and query performance for real-time analytics and reporting.- Maintain detailed documentation of all database systems, configurations, and procedures.- Occasional out of hours support will be requiredMandatory skills :- Experience deploying and operating enterprise database- MYSQL- Expert Database administrator: MySQL clustering and administration preferably in a large-scale environment.- Strong proficiency in MySQL performance tuning, query optimization, and replication.- Basic understanding of Linux Administration- Solid understanding of on-prem and cloud infrastructure- Understanding of security best practices for database administration, including encryption, access control, and data masking.Documentation skills : - Ability to create plans and SOPs- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Preferred skills : - Knowledgeable about common internet protocols, standards, architectures, and patterns- Familiarity with AMI systems, smart meter data, and IoT applications in the utility industry is highly desirable.- Hands on experience on version control using Git (or similar)- Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar for infrastructure management. - Proficiency JIRA and confluence tools (ref:hirist.tech)
