Performs examination and diagnosis of the periodontium status.
Performs dental prophylaxis (scaling, root planning and polishing).
Applies various preventive measures which include patient education and motivation, oral hygiene instructions, topical fluoride application, and pit and fissure sealant.
Participates in preventive programs planned by the Ministry of Health in the form of lectures, seminars, and demonstrations.
Identifies patient's and family's needs for education then provides the patient and/or their family with necessary information regarding illness, required care, diet restrictions, basic infection control guidelines, and treatment explanation.
Counsels and coordinates tobacco cessation programs.
Educates patients on the importance of good nutrition for maintaining optimal oral health.
Provides patient education on biofilm plaque control and home care protocol by incorporating techniques and products that will become part of an individual self-care oral hygiene program.
Respects patient rights according to the Dental Clinic in PHC policy and informs them about their responsibilities when needed.
Signs Confidentiality Agreement and adheres to confidentiality of the information pertinent to the patient and their family, the institution, and the patient and their family.
Conducts full examination of dental patients to reach a definitive diagnosis and documents the information obtained in the patient file and puts the appropriate treatment plan.
Provides periodontal treatment including oral hygiene instructions, removal of dental plaque and calculus using hand tools or ultrasonic scalers, and recontouring of overhanging fillings.
Performs conservative dental treatments including control of dental caries (fluoride and fissure sealants application and filling teeth with appropriate filling materials for all age groups) and aesthetic restorations.
Conducts root canal therapy, including complete root canal treatment for anterior teeth and root canal treatment for posterior teeth to relieve pain and referral to the endodontist (if available) to complete treatment.
Performs minor oral surgery procedures, including extraction of unrestorable and loose teeth and remaining roots, and drainage of periapical and periodontal abscesses.
Conducts any other procedures as mentioned in Procedures for Dental and Oral health services in the Primary health centers.
Participates with the primary healthcare medical team in identifying and managing medical and dental diseases.
Collects, analyzes, and documents oral and general health data and determines groups or individuals at risk for oral disease or complications.

To be considered for this role, you must have one of the following qualifications: Professional Experience:

Six months of experience after degree from Bachelor of Health Science.

Specialized Knowledge:

Proficient in written and spoken Arabic/English.
Health Science background.
