Description The Apprentice refrigeration technician plays an essential role within a company specializing in ventilation, air conditioning and/or refrigeration, working on a variety of construction, expansion or renovation projects in the residential, commercial, institutional and/or industrial sectors. . As a member of the technical team, the journeyman refrigeration engineer carries out installation, refurbishment, modification, repair or maintenance work on refrigeration and air conditioning systems, in collaboration with a qualified refrigeration technician. Responsibilities •Install, repair and maintain ventilation, air conditioning and/or refrigeration equipment according to project specifications and industry standards. •Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical specifications to determine installation and maintenance requirements. •Perform diagnostic testing to identify problems with HVAC-R systems and provide appropriate repair solutions. •Collaborate with other members of the construction team, including electricians and plumbers, to coordinate the installation of HVAC-R systems. •Ensure compliance with building codes, local regulations and safety standards during all phases of the project. •Use specialized tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, leak detectors and measuring instruments, to perform tasks efficiently. •Maintain accurate records of work performed, including work reports, maintenance records and inspection reports. •Collaborate with customers to meet their thermal comfort and indoor air quality needs, providing appropriate advice and recommendations. •Follow company safety protocols and actively participate in workplace health and safety programs. •Perform any other related task. Requirements •Degree in building mechanics, refrigeration or a related field, an asset. •Certification as a apprentice refrigeration technician or equivalent, an asset. •Hands-on experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of ventilation, air conditioning and/or refrigeration systems, an asset. •Knowledge of HVAC-R equipment and components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators and pressure regulators, an asset. •Skills in reading plans and interpreting technical diagrams, an asset. •Ability to work independently and in a team, with good sense of organization and time management. •Attention to detail and ability to perform quality work while meeting deadlines. •Good communication and customer service skills. •Valid driver's license and ability to travel to construction sites as required by the project.
