Head of Safety Culture & Training, Qatar

NES Qatar is assisting a major oil and gas client with the hire of a Head of Safety Culture and Training.This Direct hire role reports to the HSE&Q Support Manager.Responsibilities:Head and drive the development and implementation of Safety Culture and HSE&Q training programs within the company to establish a culture of safety awareness and compliance to requirements among employees and contractors across the organization.Interface regularly with all company groups, department Chiefs, Managers, Heads, and contractor management.Supervise all subordinates, including Senior Training Officers, Training Specialists, and Training Officers.Manage the development and implementation of HSE&Q training programs in line with Company and international best practices by collaborating with subject matter experts.Oversee the development and implementation of the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) corporate safety culture program.Perform the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for all HSE&Q related topics in line with Company policies and procedures.Establish HSE&Q training KPIs, monitor compliance, and communicate safety training statistics to management.Ensure a robust IIF culture by establishing policies, procedures and best practices.Oversee the IIF Champions/Observers' program and conduct site audits.Guide and be responsible for the maintenance and management of access control to confidential and critical records in the Company's Learning Management System (LMS).Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or science.Quality Management System Lead Auditor training.Knowledge and/or Experience:12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with emphasis on safety, training and operations, of which 5 years are in a training supervisory role.Extensive experience in personal safety and safety culture in both personal and process safety.Ability to coach senior management.High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.High degree of analytical and constructive thinking ability.Advanced computer literacy, to include extensive knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS SharePoint.Ability to self-organize and maintain strict attention to detail in planning.If your experience is in line with the role the client is looking to hire, please email me at Benita.Surrao@nesgt.com and we will discuss in detail over a call.With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
