Solution Data Architect

About Your Job:You will be responsible for designing data solutions that meet the business needs of the organisation. This includes translating business requirements into data products, creating data models, defining data architecture, and ensuring data integrity, security, scalability, and performance tailored to the specific needs of the initiative. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, product owners, and data analysts to ensure that data products are aligned with business objectives.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements.Leverage strong business acumen to translate business requirements into solution artifacts for building data products.Develop solution proposals that provide details of project scope, approach, deliverables, and timeline.Design data models, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and performance.Ensure the scalability and performance of data solutions.Ensure the data security of the data products and that the solution is optimized for cost efficiency.Select appropriate technologies and tools offered by the organisation's self-serve data platform for building the data products.Prepare key design decisions and demonstrate structured consideration of multiple options (comparing competing technologies, functional design approaches, etc.).Guide the data engineers in solution development and ensure the solution is implemented.QualificationsExperience & Knowledge:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Big Data, data warehouse, and data analytics projects, with at least 3 years in a solution architect role.Prior experience building large-scale enterprise data architectures using commercial and/or open-source Data Analytics technologies.Hands-on and in-depth experience of cloud solutions from a Data Architecture/Data Engineering perspective.Hands-on experience in developing and implementing large-scale data warehouses, Business Intelligence solutions, including Data Lakes/Data Hubs.Hands-on experience with productionizing cloud data solutions, including administration, configuration management, monitoring, debugging, and performance tuning.Ability to produce client-ready solution architecture, business-understandable presentations, and good communication skills to lead and run workshops.Strong understanding of data quality principles and methodologies.Data modeling and solutioning skills, including a strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalization, and dimensional data modeling such as Kimball, Inmon, and data vault.Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.In-depth understanding of Google Cloud Platform and its suite of data analytics services.Strong programming skills in languages like Python and SQL for building data pipelines and ETL processes.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of data mesh architecture, agile and lean development methodologies, and the airline domain.GCP certifications are a plus.
