Position Title:Children's Ministry DirectorPosition Type:Part TimeDescription:Job Status: Part Time Compensation: $20,000 (20 hours/week)JOB PURPOSE:The focus of the position will be to grow and develop the CLC Kids Ministry @ Christ Lutheran by creating a welcoming and Christ-centered environment for children and their families with a long-term vision of growing the ministry to reach into our community.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Energetic, warm and able to share the love of Jesus to children, their families, and volunteersAble to contextualize Bible stories and Biblical concepts for kids of various agesPrepare lessons and needed materials for children's programmingInteract and meet with kids, parents, and volunteers to build relationships and rapportRecruit and schedule all ministry volunteersAttend staff meetings as neededQualitiesNeeds to have:Prior experience working with kids (in a church context is a plus)Strong relational skills, specifically with childrenActively engaged in Christian community within a churchSelf-motivated with ability to manage and execute tasks in a timely manner, comfortable taking initiative, and able to follow through on plansCommunicate with parents and leaders through the most effective communication channels (email, text, social media, handouts, etc.)Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Apps, Canva, OR a willingness/ability to learnNice to have:Understanding of developmental benchmarks in children 0-10 yearsFamiliarity with autism, ADHD diagnosis, common behavioral patternsMusical abilitySunday Mornings:Provide a warm, friendly and engaging environment for children and familiesLead Sunday School program alongside a volunteer that you scheduledAttend Christ Lutheran worship serviceSunday Evenings:Work in conjunction with Pastor Wes and Anya to craft a strategy for evening programmingDesign programming that has a balance of fun and age-appropriate biblical content that encourages children to think about their faithProvide a warm, friendly and engaging environment for children and familiesOur Vision for This Ministry:Maple Plain is a community that is filling with families and young children. In an effort to best minister to the community that we are planted in, Christ Lutheran Church wants to develop a new ministry where families of the community can come to receive God-centered teaching that is helpful to parents as they raise their kids. We know that raising kids is hard, and we want to be there to help our community.In order to accomplish this, we want to partner this ministry to parents with the creation of a dynamic and engaging children's ministry program running concurrently. Working with the lead pastor, the Children's Ministry Director will help create and run a children's ministry program to serve the needs of the students inside and outside Christ Lutheran church.Because we know that the impact of any ministry to students is minimal each week, we aim to make this a parent's ministry that kids also come to.
