AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards.The Department of Anaesthesiology provides anaesthetic management for all procedures on a 24-hour basis, including emergency care. Pre-operative anaesthesia assessment is accomplished through the outpatient Anaesthesia Clinic and on-call in-patient consultations. The Department offers special expertise in Paediatric, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgical, Vascular and Anaesthesia for Surgical Day Cases. The Department also provides continuing critical care services through the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In addition, the Department of Anaesthesia runs acute and chronic pain services.ResponsibilitiesYou will have an independent consultant status for providing anesthesia related patient care at hospitals of the Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P), as well as at AKUH, Karachi and its affiliated sites. Time commitment between AKHS, P & AKUH will be in the ratio of 2:1 (67% time at AKHS, P & 33% at AKUH).RequirementsYou must have completed a structured post-graduate training program in Anaesthesiology from a recognized post-graduate teaching institution, and possess FCPS, MRCP, FRCA, American Boards or equivalent qualification.To ApplyPlease send your detailed CV with names and contact details (including email addresses) of at least three referees familiar with your recent work history to human.resources@aku.edu with subject line "10015943".
