Posted date 9th December, 2024 Last date to apply 9th January, 2025 Country Pakistan Locations Karachi Category Analyst Type Fixed-Term Position 1 Experience 10 years Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated consultant with extensive experience in conducting cost-effective analysis of health programs. The ideal candidate should have experience working with healthcare programs, clinics, and facilities. This role involves expertise in financial costing and cost-effectiveness analysis for different components of healthcare projects as well as for various units/layers of the program; such as facility-wise costing, per-patient costs, and per-procedure costs. Prior experience working with family planning and maternal and child health programs will be an asset. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a strategy and implementation plan for conducting cost-effective analysis of healthcare services provided in health care facilities and communities across different regions.
- Create standardized templates for cost reporting to ensure uniformity across facilities.
- Work with finance staff in various facilities to provide training on how to gather costs for conducting a cost-effective analysis.
- Oversee the process of data collection for financial and operational metrics.
- Analyze data to derive insights on cost efficiency and service delivery outcomes.
- Calculate facility-wise costing to determine operational and overhead expenses.
- Derive per-patient and per-procedure costs for analyzing financial transparency and efficiency across various interventions.
- Differentiate between direct and indirect project expenses, different components of the projects and allocate them accurately for analysis.
- Prepare detailed reports of cost-effective analyses and project outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing findings and recommendations based on analysis.
- Provide recommendations on optimizing resources across clinics and healthcare facilities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities or tasks assigned by the supervisor to support organizational goals.
- At least a Master's degree in Health Economics, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Deep understanding of family planning methods and healthcare services.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and report-writing abilities.
- Capacity to work in challenging environments and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in costing and financial analysis, financial management, economic evaluation of health programs, and value for money analysis (cost-effectiveness and cost-benefit analysis).
- Proven track record of working with healthcare projects.
- Proficiency in using financial software, MS Excel, research-related software, data analysis software, and cost analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data from multidimensional perspectives.
- Knowledge of family planning methods and their operational requirements will be an asset.
