Our Purpose is to Transform the Power System for Future Generations and our primary goal is to Lead the Island's Electricity Sector on Sustainability and Decarbonisation.Power up your career and join us on our journey of transforming Ireland's power system for future generations.Job PurposeWe are now seeking a Head of Group Strategy & Policy to join the Chief Corporate Services Office.The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and be a member of EirGrid's extended leadership team.As the Head of Group Strategy & Policy, you will lead the drive for excellence, managing and overseeing the execution of the strategy delivery programme and EirGrid's overall approach to policy development and engagement.In this role you will provide challenge to the business, ensuring targets proposed are appropriate, meaningful, measurable and stretching. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams. The role will see you lead and manage the Group's multi-year strategic and annual business planning and reporting processes ensuring these are efficient, focused, aligned to strategic objectives and embedded throughout the organisation.You will lead and motivate a high performing team to deliver the strategic objectives of the company and create an engaged and motivated workforce. You will exemplify and role model the values and leadership behaviours expected of a senior leader in the organisation and lead the process of cultural transformation.The Head of Group Strategy & Policy will be results-oriented with strong people leadership, influencing and communication skills.About YouStrategic and operational thinker with the ability to implement operational solutions in a cross-functional environmentPrior experience of related strategy development, implementation and monitoringPrior experience of instigating and managing efficiency programmesStrong organisational, planning and process management skillsStrong business acumen and ability to understand the overall business operating model within the context of the organisation being a commercial state company in a regulated environment.Strong analytical skills and rigorous attention to detailAbility to build credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders in a cross-functional environment with ability to influence and engage in constructive challengeExcellent presentation and communications skills, verbal and written; ability to take information and present it to stakeholders in a non-complex mannerAbility to multi-task and prioritise under pressure of deadlines, whilst working independentlyAbility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, demonstrate resilience and be comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguityQualified to degree level or professional qualification in a relevant disciplinePrior experience working in the electricity sector and/or a regulated environment is helpful, but not essentialClosing date for applications06/01/2025EirGrid is an Equal Opportunities Employer
