Te āheinga - The opportunity We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Event Attraction and Business Development Officer to join our Venues and Events Team on a permanent basis. As the Event Attraction & Business Development Officer, you will be the central point of contact for event enquiries and venue bookings. You will provide vital information to clients, coordinate event logistics, and proactively seek out new business opportunities to expand our portfolio of hosted events. Your role will be crucial in enhancing the variety and quality of events held at our venues. Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities
  1. Action requests to ensure venues meet customer needs both in a timely fashion and providing excellent customer service.
  2. Identify opportunities for business development to further expand the venues events business.
  3. Assist with administration and event coordination of venues presented events.
  4. Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.
  5. Development and confirmation of venue hire contracts with hirers.
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience
  1. Ideally tertiary qualification and/or appropriate level of experience in related field, including sales and/or negotiation.
  2. Sound computer skills - with good understanding of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  3. Building positive internal and external customer relationships.
  4. Experience of events and venues (desirable).
  5. Knowledge of hospitality industry (desirable).
