Responsibilities
Control and operate boilers, turbines, generators, and auxiliary equipment to generate electric power
Monitor equipment to ensure proper operation, and make adjustments as needed
Record and analyze readings from equipment, and report any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including cleaning and lubricating machinery, and replacing defective parts
Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Communicate with other operators and engineers to coordinate activities and troubleshoot problems
Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics to understand equipment and diagnose problems
Operate equipment remotely using computerized systems
Maintain accurate records and logs of equipment performance, maintenance, and repairs
Requirements
Bachelors degree or its equivalent
Minimum of 2 years as power plant operator.
Technical training in power plant operations, electrical systems, or related field
Ability to handle the operations of Power plants and ready to work on 12 hrs shift.
Familiar with Gas Genset operations.
Previous experience as a power plant operator, or in a related field such as electrical or mechanical engineering
Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, as well as computerized control systems
Understanding of safety regulations and procedures
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work rotating shifts and be available for emergency response
