Job Description

The Data Managing Officer is responsible for overseeing the organization’s data management activities, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and security of all data assets. This role involves developing and implementing data management policies, analyzing data to generate actionable insights, and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The Data Managing Officer collaborates with various departments to support data-driven decision-making and optimizes database performance. Responsible for:

• Develop and implement data management policies and procedures.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data across various databases.
• Oversee data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
• Analyze data to generate insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Create and maintain data dashboards and reports for different departments.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
• Implement data security measures to protect sensitive information.
• Monitor and report on data breaches and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Maintain and update databases regularly to ensure data accuracy.
• Optimize database performance and troubleshoot any issues.
• Coordinate with IT staff for database upgrades and maintenance.
• Train researchers / staff on data management best practices and tools.
• Serve as a point of contact for data-related queries and issues.
