Job Description: Electrical Engineer QatarParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Electrical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to monitor, inspect, and coordinate all electrical works ensuring compliance with contract requirements and specifications.What you will be doing:The Electrical Engineer will assist the Senior Electrical Engineer and Resident Engineer (M&E) in administering the operational functions of the day-to-day activities on the project with respect to Electrical and Electromechanical works including street lightings and Low Current system.He will be involved in:Monitoring inspection coordination witnessing documentation of all electrical works (EHV, HV, MV, LV, and Substation works) of the project to ensure that the project is constructed as per Contract requirements and specifications.Reviewing and recommending approval of all material and shop drawings related to the electrical works.Implementing the approved safety and quality assurance and control system that is related to his discipline.Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer / Resident Engineer (M&E) as applicable and participating in the construction supervision of all electrical items including electromechanical works, electrical cables (EHV, HV, MV, LV), electrical substations, street lightings, and low current system of the project.Maintaining a daily diary or daily report of construction activities (related to electrical works) and/or consolidating those of junior inspectors as the case may be; ensuring timely reporting of consequent findings and issues to the Resident Engineer and providing expert advice as necessary.Preparation of reports, minutes of meetings, etc., related to electrical works.Controlling/managing the Electrical Inspectors by giving guidance for the work supervision activities and maintaining quality and safety to meet client satisfaction.Coordinating direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.Monitoring, measuring, and recording Contractors' progress on electrical and electromechanical work and providing feedback to the Resident Engineer allowing him to assess the actual construction progress against the approved construction schedule.Coordinating with the Contractor if assigned by the Resident Engineer on matters of scheduling and application of resources.Assisting Senior Engineer/Resident Engineer in reviewing of shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and other related activities in his discipline.Coordinating with Parsons Design Engineers if required on matters of design approval and resolution of interdisciplinary construction conflicts involving design in his discipline.Convening and chairing special meetings with the Contractor, subcontractors, and other parties related to his work as may be appointed by the Resident Engineer.Ensuring safety goals are achieved on the project and overseeing implementation of safety procedures on the project.Actively participating in all health and safety issues at site as required by the Resident Engineer and/or Project Safety Representatives.Witnessing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if required by the Client; and witnessing all relevant acceptance tests required by the Contract/Specifications.Planning for and coordinating with the Contractor on the necessary pre-commissioning, commissioning, and post-commissioning activities.Ensuring that all associated documentation/records are complete and accurate (i.e., as-built drawings, operation, and maintenance manuals).Coordinating with the Contractor and client O&M on the trainings required by the Contract prior to handover and closeout.What required skills you'll bring:- Degree in Electrical Engineering and ten (10) years demonstrable experience in all aspects of electrical supervision on major road, highway, and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.- Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.- Ability to review and justify the material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing and quality measures ensuring compliance with the project Specifications.- Sound knowledge about contractual relationships.- Fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc., and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent capabilities in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.- Must be MME registered.What desired skills you'll bring:- Familiarity with sustainable practices in electrical engineering and project management.- Experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and knowledge of regional regulatory requirements.Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Not Applicable/NoneParsons is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
